치킨 스크레치 (Chicken Scratch)는 아리조나와 멕시코 국경 양쪽에 걸쳐 있는 지역의 파파고 족의 댄스음악으로서 200여년 전 스페인 사람들의 댄스음악에 매료되어 자신들의 고유한 해석으로 재창조한 춤음악의 발동작은 마치 닭의 걸음걸이를 보는 듯해서 그렇게 불린다고 한다.
